Marcus H. Klebe, Esq.

Marcus H. Klebe, Esq. offers clients a strong record of success in resolving legal issues in a strategic, cost-effective and timely manner.

Before opening his own law firm, Marcus was Co-Founder, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of a start-up green technology company in San Diego, where he leveraged excellent communication skills, as well as a keen awareness of process management and brand image, to manage legal affairs as in-house counsel.

Prior to that, Marcus was an attorney with the firm George P. Shenas, Incorporated – formerly known as Shenas & Clark – where his roster of clients included HID Global Corporation, Hunter Industries Incorporated, Palomar Display Products, Inc., Christopher Weil & Company, Inc., Besam US Inc., as well as several start-up and early stage companies.  His practice focused on corporate and commercial law, M&A, intellectual property licensing, securities and general contract matters.  Marcus also advised clients with respect to distribution and supply arrangements, as well as antitrust and other regulatory compliance.

Marcus also practiced corporate law with Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York City and with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy LLP in Frankfurt, Germany.  His diverse, worldwide practice serviced numerous “Fortune 500” companies and included public and private corporate finance, cross-border leasing transactions, mortgage backed securities (MBS) and collateralized debt obligation (CDO) issuances, credit default swap negotiations, work as designated underwriter’s counsel for Ford Motor Credit Company, and business combinations such as the DaimlerChrysler merger.

Marcus also draws on his business management background and exposure to alternative dispute resolution.  Marcus convened more than a hundred successful mediations at the New York Better Business Bureau, with the Safe Horizon mediation center, and in Kings County – Brooklyn Civil Court.  Marcus joined K International Transport, Co., an international freight forwarding company owned and operated by his family as a logistics manager.  Marcus had extensive involvement in managing, marketing and mentoring efforts, helping to raise revenues by roughly one-third and train new hires.  This business and mediation experience complements his advocacy skills in the context of commercial and contract negotiations.

Marcus received a B.A. both in Political Science and German Literature from Amherst College in 1996, graduating cum laude and spending his junior year abroad at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg, Germany.  He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1999 and is admitted to practice law in the States of California and New York.
